Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Hello my lovelies? How's your week been? I bet your glad it's the weekend! I'm not working yet, but I aim to work again again one day, and ideally it would be working from home doing nails. I need to get my H.S diploma finished, not too much longer at that, only about another 6 exams....yippee!

Once I've done that, then I can go to school to become a nail technician. I think I'm going to wait until we've got orders out of here, there's no schools round here for it at all. Ideally I'd love to go to Okinawa, just because I love to travel, but also because can you imagine? Where is the best place in the world to get training to become a nail tech? Asia. There are some fantastic schools over there, with some really fabulous teachers. They put  the schools over here to shame with what you're taught!

Being realistic though, we've got more chance of orders to Camp Lejeune, NC. Whilst it isn't Okinawa, there is a school down in Wilmington that supposedly has a course, and from what I've heard it's a pretty good school. And I do like NC! It's lame for shopping, but hey, you can't have everything, right?

Anyway my lovelies, I hope you all continue to enjoy your weekend(s), and I'll have a chat with you all again soon! I've been thinking about doing another NOTD, so maybe I'll look into what colour I'm going to use!

That's it from me for now, I'm going to hit the sack. Goodnight darlings, sleep well!

Problems with leaving comments. Any ideas?

Hello my lovelies!
As stated in my title, I'm having problems with leaving comments in answer to some of yours. I don't know what's going on. My google account doesn't work, it asks me to log in, I log in, it asks me for word verification, I do the word verification, then it asks me to long in, I log in, it asks me to do the word verification, I do the word verification, and so on. Round and round in circles.
My live journal doesn't recognize my user name. It's the same one I've always used, so I have no idea what's going on with that either.
So anyway, if any of you leave comments for me and I don't reply, it's not because I'm ignoring you or I can't be bothered to answer, it's that I literally can't answer you.
If you have any ideas how to rectify this, please let me know, because I'm getting quite irritated with it! Thanks loveys!

Monday NOTD -Essie Sexy Divide and Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple

Hello my lovelies! How are you today? I am dead tired, I don't know why the post I did last night says it was at 9:30pm, it wasn't. It was about 2:30am. I've not been sleeping very well of late, and I need my beauty sleep! So anyway, I have some pics for you of my NOTD. They're very messy I'm afraid, I didn't do any clean up, and I have nail polish all over my cuticles and my skin. Having said that I chose some really pretty colours. I chose Essie, Sexy Divide as a base coat, one coat. And I chose Kleancolor Chunky Holo Purple as a top coat, one coat. The photo's are pretty crappy I'm afraid! I'm the worlds worst photographer, even with a point and shoot camera! Anyway my lovelies, enough chat! Here's the pics:

Hope you're all in bed.

It's the middle of the night right now, and I should be asleep. I went to bed a couple of hours ago, but got back up when I couldn't fall asleep. I've been trying to figure out new things I can do with the nail polish I already have, so that I don't get bored with them. I know I've got over 400+ polishes and that is one heck of a lot. But it's easy to get bored when you have nothing new to add to the mix. This is an exceptionally long ban (at least a year) and I can't do any swapping either. Now obviously I could try layering with my Clarins 230, my flakies, my glitter polish and any sheers that I have. I have all the time in the world to practice on my nail art. Once my nails have grown out any art on my nails will be limited by my talent. So anyway dear readers,  if you have any suggestions for me to keep my collection new and fresh, please pass them along! Thank you, and goodnight, I'm going back to bed. xoxo

More nail art!

Happy Sunday sweethearts! I have some more nail art to show you today. Why all the nail art and showing you my stash when this is a nail blog, you might ask? Well, a couple of months ago I took of my acrylics. What was left underneath was pretty horrific, and it's going to take a good 4-6months to get my nails back into good shape. So in the mean time, every now and then I'll put a set of glue on nails on, but other than that, I'm just trying to baby my real nails as much as possible, in the hopes that they will grow back to how they were before I put acrylics on them. Once they've grown out, I promise I'll start doing more NOTD's, etc! Anyway, this is what I've done the past couple of days. I hope you enjoy it, and please let me know what you think if it! Thank you sweeties!

Water decals

Hello my lovelies! Today I thought I'd tell you about one of my favourite nail art items, water decals. These amazing decals are way too underrated. Most people have never even heard of them, and yet they are way better than regular decals, which are coming off before you even put them on! Why is it that these little decals get so little notice and are so unpopular? Why is it that hardly any company's  out there are bothering to make them? I've been using these kind of decals for a while now. Granted, they take a bit of getting used to. Granted, they're very fiddly. But once you've put them, on the first thing is that you can't feel them. They are completely flat on the nail. The other thing is, they're not going anywhere until you do another manicure. These decals don't get the attention they deserve, and it's such a shame. I thought I'd put some pics to go with this post, so you can all see how lovely they are. I really want to see a much better variety, and I want to see them made by American companies, and sold by Sally's, Ulta, etc. Anyway, that's my little rant! Thanks for reading! Here's the pics:

Here's some pics of my nail art.

Hello my lovelies, happy Friday to you all! Ok, I have a bit of a treat for you today! Well, actually that depends on the way you look at it, you might think "not more of her crappy nail art!", I hope you don't think it's that bad, lol! Ok, all of my nail art is inspired or copied from other peoples work. Whilst I enjoy doing the nail art, I don't have the best of imaginations for coming up with concepts of my own. So, a lot of this comes from Youtube and Nails Porn. Some of it has been completely changed, some of it has been somewhat changed, but some of it is copied, I'm afraid. The ones I've copied from, I've made sure it was okay. Please note, some of these haven't been finished, because I got bored with them. So anyway, there's one heck of a lot of pics for you to look at, so without any further fuss, lets get to it:

And that all folks! If you want to see more of my nail art, I actually uploaded and posted a bunch of pics about a month ago when I started the blog. I'd love to know what you all think of it. Thank you!

And todays mani is....

Hello my lovelies! I have another post for you today. I got bored with my horrid post-acrylic nails, so I put some oval nails on. The mani I chose to do was Essie's Super Bossa Nova with a top coat of Golden Rose Scale Effect #3. Sorry about the dreadful job. I get the chronic shakes, and it's a real pita trying to do a mani, lol! Anyway, here's the pics! Let me know what you think!

Bye my lovelies! I'll see you all again soon! xoxo

Nail mail....whoop whoop!

So I was happy to discover a little parcel in my mail box today, and it had come from my lovely friend George again! George has exceptionally good taste I must say, and I am more than happy for him to pass his unwanted nail polish my way! So what did I discover in my little parcel, you might ask? Well, I got three beautiful nail polishes. I got:
Orly - Get A Grip, a stunning purple that has the most amazing sheen to it.
OPI - Call my Cell-ery, a beautiful lime green. It's incredibley sheer, so you really need a coloured basecoat.
OPI - Electric Eel, Another lime green, this one with tones of cream and bright electric green. Again, this one is very sheer and definitely requires a coloured basecoat beneath it.
For your viewing pleasure, here's the pic. Left to right Call My Cell-ery, Get A Grip, Electric Eel:

If any of you have ideas for good colours to go under the Call My Cell-ery and Electric Eel, I'm all ears! Tia! And have a great day.

Sorry, no pics today!

Hello my lovelies!

I hope the day has been going well for each and every one of you. Sorry I have no photo's today. I haven't been feeling well for a few days now, and I've quite honestly had to force the smiles on my face the past few days with Dad and Chris here. Don't you hate that? When you have to pretend around people? Especially people you love. You feel like crap, but at the same time you feel guilty because you're putting on a front. All I wanted to do was go to bed. But you can't really do that with familiy visiting! Hopefully next time they come I'll be feeling somewhat better! Anyway my lovelies, I'm going to keep this short, because I really do feel dreadful. I'll see you tomorrow. You guys all sleep well, and have a fabulous day tomorrow!

The in-laws visit!

Hello Lovelies! Today is the second day of my in-laws visit. I have my father-in-law here, he's called Bob, but to me, he's always Dad. I also have my sister-in-law here, her names Chris, and she's lovely! She's a really close friend to me. Unfortunately, tomorrow they go home :0(. So anyway, I have some pics I want to share with you. First up, I did a nice colorful mani and pedi on Chris. On her toes I painted Color Club's Ulterior motive, and decorated the big toes with some decals. Here's a pic:

Next up I did her mani. It's not something I would have chosen, but I actually think it came out really well. I think it's always interesting to see someone elses choices, it gives you a fresh look at how things go together. Anyway, she chose Orly Monroe's Red, a lipstick red with ever such a slight sheen to it. Because we've done regular decals on her fingernails before and they come off really quickly, we decided to go with some water decals. She chose some bright yellow flowers, and I chose to do  gold rhinestones on the thumbs. Here's how this looked:

Finally, I thought it would be really nice, if I took some pics of Dad, Chris and my husband Steve (after all, it's his Dad and sister) and showed you guys some pics of some of my family members! Without further ado, I present you, Chris:

Dad:

And last but certainly not least, my wonderful, gorgeous husband, Steve:

So that's it for today my lovelies! You got to meet some of my family members! Who knows, maybe you'll meet some more in the future! Have a great night and I'll talk to you all soon. xoxoxoxo

I got more nail mail...yippee!

Hello my lovelies! I got an awesome surprise when I went to the post box today. A box and a padded enveolpe. Like I've said before (and I'm sure I'll say it again, lol!) it's always a good day when you get nail mail. Now I'm not breaking my ban, these are a couple of the last few swaps I arranged before the ban went into effect. Am I gonna miss little boxes and envelopes arriving for me once I've received the very last box. Lucky for me I have a crap load of np's and nail art stuff! Anyway lovelies, this is what I got:

Zoya - Suvi, a deep emerald green with a hint of black, I believe it's classed as a frost.
Zoya - Jules, a gorgeous beige with strong gold tones. A shimmer, I think
Zoya - Dannii, a beautiful purple with gold flecks. Absolutely glorious!
Northern Lights Out The Door silver - A stunnig holo topcoat.
OPI - Kyoto Pearl - An off white pearl shade. Simple but beautiful.
ChG - Watermelon Rind, A deep teal. Not too sure what this finish is. If you know what it is, or if I'm wrong with the others, please tell me!
ChG - Cruisin', A very pretty bronzy orangy shade. I'm thinking this is a frost.

All of these ones above were freebies in one of the packages. Wasn't that a lovely thing to do? Thank you so much Jennifer, you made my day! And now for the piece de resistance:

ChG - TTYL, from the OMG! collection, a beautiful peach holo!
Nubar - Reclaim, OMG. I'm lost for words. This is a simply stunning forest green holo. I'm drooling here...

The TTYL came from Jennifer, thanks again love! And the beautiful Reclaim came from Michelle. Thank you sweetheart for swapping with me for this gorgeous colour. I've been wanting it for quite some time now.

Below is the pic for all of you lovelies to enjoy!

I have another little nail package!

I went out to the post box, and discovered a little package waiting for me! It's always a good day when you get nail mail! So I opened up my package, and what did I see? I saw two OPI DS's! Hell yeah! Can't go wrong with OPI DS for the most part! Any way, let me stop fart arsing around, and tell you what I got:

OPI DS Tapestry - A pinkish reddish colour with the diamond flecks in. Rather pretty, admittedly, but it doesn't come close to the DS holo's
OPI DS Signature - Now this one is another story. Oh my god. This one is a glorious lilacky/ pinky kind of colour, (don't you absolutely love my attempts at describing a colour? Lol! I know, I know, it's not my forte, that's for sure!) with a stunning linear holographic effect. This one is also a back up. Hey, I couldn't resist! I've included a pic for you, and I hope you like it!

Kept my promise!

Hello sweeties, do I have a treat in store for you! I kept my promise and put some fake nails on, and after much deliberation I decided to do a mani with this colour. The nail polish in question is none other than OPI's DS Original. A fantastic holo in a lilac colour. This np sparkles and shimmers in the bottle leaving you absolutely no doubt as to how your nails will look once painted. Some of the OPI DS's I've been rather disappointed by, but this my lovelies, is certainly not one of them. It's semi sheer so you need 2 coats, but it applies smoothly and evenly and dries in a very short period of time. Try this one, I can guarantee you you won't be disappointed!

Some gorgeous np's from a lovely guy!

Hello lovelies!

And how are you all today? Keeping well I hope! Are you looking forward to the weekend? You make sure you all get some rest, life is so fast-paced these days. What I have for you here are two incredible nail polishes given  to me by a lovely fella by the name of George. I met him through one of the many forums/pages I visit, I sent him a couple of nail magazines and he was nice enough to send me these. I think they are absolutely fabulous! The first is by Barielle, and it's called Falling Star.(It's the one on the left of the photo) It's a mid blue creme with bronze flecks in it. To truly bring out the beauty of this nail polish you really need 3 coats. It applies well, and it dries quickly too. The second one is by BB Couture, and it's called Sea Of Cortez. This one is a semi translucent teal with a multi colour micro particles in it. With this polish you definitely need 3 coats, the first layer is very translucent. After the third layer however, it's very opaque. The multi colour particles shimmer with every slight move you make, it's really quite beautiful. The application on this is smooth, and again dries pretty quickly. I highly recommend both of these np's Hope you enjoy the pics! I'd love to hear what you think of these too.
