2nd post today!

Has anyone noticed that we are slowly but surely getting closer to my 120th post giveaway? I think not. Do I need to ease up on the rules a little? Why don't I do just that? Firstly, let me explain the giveaway. My initial reason was to both celebrate my blog, and to bring new people into it. I have no concrete prize to tell you about yet. It's not going to be a big prize, nor are there going to be multiple prizes. I'm sorry, but we just cannot afford it on one income. Some of the prize will come from my own collection. The rest will be new, and bought by me. Okay, onto new and slightly relaxed rules!

1) Must be a blog follower through both 'followers' and 'bloglovin'
2) Must live in CONUS, sorry to all the followers who live in other countries, but again, I just can't afford the postage.
3) Must post one comment on my blog, either prior to now, or before 120th post.
5) If you have a blog, you must post about my giveaway on your blog, and send me the link.
6) If you don't have a blog of your own, then I want 2 comments posted on my blog instead of one, and you must introduce one new follower to my blog who will follow through either 'followers' or 'bloglovin'. You must tell me who they are, so I can clarify with them whether them joining my blog was through you.

Personally, I don't think this is too much to ask:
-If you're already a follower, it takes 5 seconds to also join through bloglovin.
-It takes maybe a minute to post a comment. If you've already done so, then this is a moot point!
- If you're a blogger yourself it takes 10 seconds to cut and paste this post to your blog, and another minute to add an explanation at the bottom.
-If you not a blogger, just add one more minute for your second post. We all have loads of cyber pals now, it'll take you another minute or too to find someone to follow my blog. If you're reading my blog, you're already into nail polish.  If you're into nail polish, I bet my arse you're a member of some kind of nail polish forum, or club, or MUA or whatever.

Even though I know you're all busy, it's not going to take a huge chunk out of your personal time to fill the requirements!

I'm doing this for all of us. Come on people bring fun into it! Spread the news! There's nothing better than receiving free stuff!

Getting better slowly!

So, for those of you who read my last post and heard about my accident,  I thought I'd give you a little update! I'm definitely better than I was but recovery seems to take forever, and is incredibly boring.

I'm walking much better now, but I still need the aid of a walking frame, and am still rather wobbly on my feet. I find myself slurring certain words, and also find that sometimes I have difficulty manipulating the computer keyboard.

I have high hopes that within a week or so I'll be back to my old self. Fingers crossed.

All my love and for gods sake stay safe....don't pull a "Pennie-ism!" Hospital stays can be very monotonous!

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, as opposed to how I spent mine!

Hello lovelies! Do you remember that post I made a few posts back about how if there was one Polar Bear poo in the North Pole, I'd find it, slip in it, and break my bloody neck??? About how accident prone I am, and how trouble finds me? Yep, you got it!
So, on Thanksgiving I reached over (from an awkward position, I was too lazy  to take the extra step and a half!) to put the pepper away and smacked my head real hard on the oven hood. I bounced away, fell forward again and hit it hard again. As if that wasn't enough, I then fell backwards, hiting the back of my head really hard on the floor, and knocked myself out.
When I came to one or two minutes later I couldn't talk without slurring like a drunk, and I couldn't walk. I called 911, no idea HOW they understood what I was saying, but they did, and within a few minutes the ambulance took me to hospital. Long and short of it is I have spent the last few days in hospital. I still can't walk without the aid of a walking frame, but even then, not too well. My speech is better now. I'll be having physical therapy to strengthen my legs.
The moral of the story is TAKE THE EXTRA STEP WHEN NEEDED!!! Will blog again as soon as I can cos I have double vision right now, and can't see well. Be safe!

Guess what lovelies? You got it! Nail art time!

Hello darlings, I've been getting back into doing my nail art again. I think I got a little bored with it for a bit (can you believe that? Bored? What was I thinking?!) so I didn't do any for a month to 6 weeks, but now I'm back at it, and loving it more than ever. So much fun! Here's my offering from over the last few days, hope you enjoy it!

I know the umbrella one is kind of childish, but I thought it was cute, and I just had to do it! I'd love to hear your thoughts on them all. Hope you're all enjoying your week. Anyone notice winter is well and truly here, argh! I hate it! Bring on the Spring! (But bring me Christmas first, because I like getting my stocking and presents, lol!) Anyway my lovelies, be safe and I'll see you all very soon. All my love. xoxoxo

A fabulous early Christmas gift! This post is dedicated to a wonderful friend.

Hi lovelies!

I received the most amazing Christmas box from one of my friends the other day. Now I know it's not Christmas yet, but I couldn't wait to see what was in the box, so I opened it. Early.
Even though my friend had told me what she was getting for me I was completely stunned by what I saw. Sally Hansen Nail Prisms no less! Not just one or two either, but a whole box of them! I was floored by how stunning they are irl. I'd seen a couple of them prior, don't get me wrong. I'd even owned a couple of them! But this was serious business my lovelies, so much to take in. Here's some pics for you to feast your eyes upon the glory of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms.

Aren't they gorgeous? I'm so happy with them! Thank you to my wonderful friend who is always there to listen to me moan and groan, supports me through thick and thin, and sends me the most amazing gifts! You know who you are darling, and I love you and cherish you and your friendship deeply. Great big hug and a big kiss on both cheeks! I dedicate this post to you girlfriend. Our friendship will last a lifetime. Know that I'm here for you every day of every week, of every month, of every year. You're amazing. xoxoxo

120th post giveaway

Hello my lovelies! I've decided that when I reach my 120th post (I'm now at post number 89) that I'm going to do a giveaway. I have no idea what I'm going to give away yet, chances are it will be a mixture of things that belong to me and some brand new goodies as well.  I'll work out what I'm going to give away shortly, and do a post on the prize. The purpose of this giveaway is to celebrate my 120th post, to celebrate my lovely followers, and also to gain more followers. Most likely once you've met the rules of the giveaway, I will put all entrants names in a hat and draw one.  I'm also going to give a cut-off date shortly, but don't worry, I'll give you plenty of time! This will be my first giveaway, and I'm really excited to do it! I do have some rules, which must be followed if you want a chance to enter the giveaway.

1) You MUST be a follower of my blog.
2) You must live in the USA. (I'm sorry to all my international fans, but I can't afford the postage)
3) You must have posted at least 2 comments on my blog, I will check!
4) You must mention my blog and blog giveaway on your blog, and you need to send me the link.
5) You need to introduce at least 2 more people to my blog, and they must become followers(again, I will check!) Obviously you need to tell me the names of the people you introduced,
6) You must post a comment here on my blog telling me you want to be an entrant, saying why you deserve to win this giveaway, and I'd like you to tell me what you'd like to see more or less of on my blog.  Also tell me your colour prefences, np finish preferences, etc(just for shits and giggles!)

That's pretty much it my lovelies! I look forward to receiving your entries. As you can see you have loads of time to fulfill the above requirements, if you haven't done so already. I look forward to hearing from you all soon!

Nail art!

Hello my lovelies! I hope everyone is happy and enjoying this gorgeous Indian summer we're having! It's hard to believe we're a week into November, it really is. Now, down to business. I haven't been doing that much nail art lately, and I really miss doing it. Over the past week or so I decided I was missing it so much that I took out my supplies and started doing some more. Like I've told you all before I'm not a natural artist so my work isn't the best, but I like to try and I really enjoy it. I now present to you my lovelies, my latest efforts. As always, any advice and critiques will be gratefully received. Anyway, here you go!

NOTD - Zoya Anaka

Hello lovelys! I hope you're enjoying this gorgeous weather we're having this weekend! I think it's absolutely beautiful out. I've just changed my mani, and I thought I'd show you all which np I opted for. I chose Zoya Anaka, which is a beautiful dark fuschia shimmer with tiny bronze or gold flecks in, I can't tell which. Anyway, here's some pics for your viewing pleasure. Tell me what you think:

So there you go, what do you think? I think it's a really pretty colour myself! Anyway sweeties, enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I'll see you all soon. In the mean time, you take care of yourselves, and stay safe. xoxoxo

I'm a high school graduate!

Hello lovelys! In my initial blog introduction, I told you about how I am a 39 year old woman going through high school. Now, at long last, I'm pleased to tell you that I'm a high school graduate! It took me 1 year, 9 months to get through the course, although you are initially given a total of 3 years to complete. These pictures represent the courses that I took, my subsequent high school diploma and my transcripts. I found this course hard work and a real struggle.

Many of the courses I hated, including the English courses. I love maths, but have never been good at it so I was also surprised to get A's throughout. I found it surprising that my best grade, 100%, came from American history, bearing in mind the fact that I'm not American and never studied American history when I was at school in England. I'm so relieved to be able to say that I'm finally done with this course, and that I was successful. Anyway, here the pics of my study books and diploma:

A pic showing you the stack of books I had to study.

A close-up of some of the course work

This pic shows you just how many books there were. The height of the stack goes up to my mid-thigh!

The long-awaited diploma!

A pic of my transcripts.

A close-up showing my GPA. My average was 93%. I was kind of pissed off at myself, because I could have done better. you know sometimes you think something is easy, then you find out that your answers were wrong? That's what happened with some of my scores, I was complacent, because I thought I knew the answers. Unless you actually fail an exam, you are not allowed to re-sit for it. I'm stuck with a lot of B's because of this. I know have no one else to blame but myself, and I could quite honestly kick myself for it. Still, I'm glad it's over and done with, hopefully I'll have learnt my lesson for any future schooling I take.
