Back in hospital.

Hi there loves,

I don't know when I'm next going to be able to post, and I wanted to explain why. I've been having these episodes where I pass out, but when I come to I can't use my legs or talk without slurring.

I happened again the night before last, and I was taken to the hospital. They ran a gamut of tests, but long story short, they found a tumor attached to my spinal sac. I was transferred to another hospital yesterday night, and I'm now waiting to see the doctor tomorrow, have more tests and decide from there. It might just explain some of my existing health conditions, which would be great!

I'm not looking for sympathy or anything else from any of you, but I've been a somewhat slack blogger in the past, leaving you hanging. I promised myself to try and do better, so consequently I thought I'd tell you what was going on.

Anyway, I really hope to see you all very soon. In the mean time, say safe, be happy, and remember my words about Father Christmas aka Santa Claus! You still have a week to go!

All my love,

P

Teeny tiny haul...

Hey there lovelies! I got myself a little haul from LLarowe. Small, but awesome at the same time! Here's what I got:

Ludurana - Supremo
Jade - Mystic Gold
Enchanted Polish - Hey Jude

I told you it was a small haul, lol! But small as it is, the polishes are rather nice! Here's some pics. I think I went overboard on the pics to compensate for the lack of haulage, lol!

                                                                               1
1) The trio from left to right:
Jade - Mystic Gold
Enchanted Polish - Hey Jude
Ludurana - Supremo

                                                                              2

                                                                              3

                                                                             4

                                                                              5

2) Ludurana
3) Ludurana
4) Jade
5) Enchanted Polish

                                                                                6

                                                                               7

6 and 7) Swatches of all three. From left to right: Enchanted Polish Hey Jude, Jade Mystic Gold, Ludurana Supremo.

So, what do I think of these polishes?

Let's start with my favourite, Jade - Mystic Gold. The colour is stunning. A very strong linear holo gold. For me personally, I have not seen a holo gold this strong on colour. The other golds are much more mellow and muted, as well as being much lighter in colour. The drawback? The size of the bottle. It's a mere 8ml, so roughly half the size of a regular bottle. Having said that, the price is also 'mere.' This polish was only $7, so I think the price is very fair for the size of the bottle.

Next, let's look at the Ludurana. Hmm. Gorgeous colour, I will say that. But. If you already have OPI DS Original(I do,) OPI DS Amethyst(I do,) OPI Sanderella(I do,) Ozotic Pro 534(I do,) or even Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Purple Diamond(again, I do,) then I wouldn't bother getting this. If you don't have any of these, then run and get it! However, again, this is a small bottle. 8ml. It's more expensive than the Jade brand, and runs at $10 a bottle. As I said, the colour is gorgeous, but it's not really much different to the ones I mentioned above.

Lastly, let's take a look at the Enchanted Polish - Hey Jude. The size of the bottle is great. A nice, generous sized 15ml is my guess. The colour is gorgeous. It's a holochrome as I like to call them, ie; it's a multichrome and a holo mixed together. The colours are bright green, gold and electric blue, with a scattered but fairly strong holo. Quite similar to the Ozotic Mish Mash nps in finish. I like it. I really do. And I'm definitely going to get some more when I get paid! This np cost me $13, which is very reasonable I'd say. Well worth the money!

I can safely say that I'm happy with these np's. It was money well spent. And I am going to buy myself more of each brand.

Anyway, I'm going to leave you to it. I hope you have a wonderful weekend(if I don't see you all before!) Stay safe, be happy! Oh, and be good. Father Christmas is coming soon, and we all know he only comes to visit good girls and boys!

Loads of love!!!

Barielle - warning, long post!

I wanted to write a post about a brand that is one of my all time favourite brands. The reasons I like them are varied;
- Their price is very good, $8 per nail polish on their website.
- The formula is excellent. Not too thick, not too runny, very well pigmented.
- Ease of application. They go on smoothly, and for the most part one or two coats is plenty for a great finish.
- They're different. I like that they aren't run-of-the-mill, the same that you see with every brand, it seems to me that they take the time to find different shades and finishes to other brands instead of following the herd!

Below you'll see a bunch of the pics I've taken. Again, my apologies. My photography is lame, and does a lot of these colours no justice at all, such a shame because it's when you see these colours close-up that you really see the differences between them and the other brands.

                                                                              1

                                                                               2

                                                                              3

1) L to R  Out-Grey-Geous, Coalest Day Of The Year, Seductive, Night Moves, Platinum Ring, Granite Glitter.
2) L to R Out-Grey-Geous, Coalest Day Of The Year, Seductive, Night Moves, Platinum Ring, Granite Glitter,
3) Close-up of Out-Grey-Geous. If this had been taken by a better photographer, you'd be able to see the beauty in this np. It is a blue-grey, with the tiniest flecks of gold scattered within it. So pretty.

Seductive is a slightly lighter version of Out-Grey-Geous. Coalest Day Of The Year is a beautiful dark, dark grey, closer to black really. It has a lovely shimmer, and like all Barielle np's, is a dream to apply. In these first six, my greatest disappointment is that Platinum Ring and Night Moves are really interchangeable. I see no difference in them, but seriously, they are the only disappointments I've come across with Barielle.

                                                                                4

                                                                              5

                                                                              6

                                                                                  7

                                                                                8

4) L to R Suntini, Elle's Spell, Wrap Me In Ribbon, Behave Yourself, Brown Sparkles, Jess' Champagne Toast.
5) Swatches. In same order as above.
6) A lame attempt at a closeup of Jess' Champagne Toast.
7) Jess' Champagne Toast
8) Elle's Spell

Suntini is a gorgeous orange-coral cream, fabulous with a tan! Elle's Spell. Ladies, this colour was out before any of us np lovers had even heard of flakies! Well before! It's a fairly sheer plum colour full to bursting with sparkly flakies. It looks great on it's own, but you apply it over a lavender, a red or a pink, it really comes into it's own. It's fabulous, and so versatile. Try it, you won't be disappointed! Wrap Me In Ribbon and Behave Yourself are 2 different shades of shimmering pinks, one lighter than the other. Chic. Stunning. Brown Sparkles is full of fun. Then we come to my personal favourite in this group. Jess' Champagne Toast. This colour is a blue/lavender, with tiny, tiny pink particles of glitter in. There's not too many, so it's not overwhelming the base colour, but it shows up just the right amount. I love this colour, and I've yet to come across another np anything like this.  It's delightful!

                                                                                 9

                                                                               10

                                                                                 12

                                                                                 13

                                                                                14

9) L to R Slate Of Affairs, Falling Star, Blackened Bleu, Decadence, Date Night, Polished Princess, Positive ZEN-ergy
10) Swatches, in same order as above.
11) Close-up of Slate Of Affairs, Falling Star, Blackened Bleu and Decadence.
12) Close-up of Positive ZEN-ergy and Polished Princess.\
13) Bottle of Falling Star
14) Bottle of Positive ZEN-ergy

The last of my meager collection of Barielle. Oh, to have them all!!!  Slate Of Affairs, is a blue grey shimmer, there's more to it than that, however. As you turn the bottle, you see a flash of electric blue throughout. It's stunning. It's quite sheer, but you still get great coverage with two coats. Next on the list is Falling Star. Initially, decriptively at least, it's akin to Slate Of Affairs, but there the difference ends. It's not shimmery, it's a highly pigmented cream, AND it has the most amazing copper coloured glitter particles in it, making it completely and utterly unique! This was the first of the Barielle's I owned, and what a polish to start a collection with! If you don't have any Barielles, and you like blue, this is the one to start your collection. Believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Next we have Blackened Bleu. When you look at the bottle, you see a rather electrifying teal blue flash. When you apply it to your nail, you see the underlying colour is black, with the teal blue flash accompanying it throughout. This is a stunner. Up next is Decadence. Another shimmer. A deep aqua that again, to me, seems to have that flash of colour reminiscent of Slate Of Affairs and Blackened Bleu. The last three I have are the greens. The first is Date Night, a deep true green shimmer with minute silver sparkles in. Gorgeous. Next is Polished Princess, a warm olive-y kind of green shimmer, that when you look closely, you see a kind of teal flash that looks to me like tiny teal particles. Yet another completely unique colour. And last, but far from least is Positive ZEN-ergy.This is a... hmm. How to describe. A minty colour green shimmer, with tiny silver glitter particles.  It's an absolute treat.

As I said at the beginning of this post, all of these colours apply smoothly and evenly. All are very well pigmented. The price is fabulous, whilst they're not cheap, they certainly won't break the bank. Overall, this brand has incredibly nice products, each well presented and each one is unique. I love them, I really do. Don't ask me to choose my favourite shade, because I honestly couldn't tell you. What I can tell you, is that I can't wait to own more of them.

If you're interested in this product, here's a link to their website:
http://www.barielle.com/

Anyway all, I think that's more than enough from me. You take care, be safe and happy, and I'll see you all soon! Loads of love,

My new topcoat

I decided to make myself a holo topcoat. Why I didn't think of this before is beyond me! I love holographic nail polish and I've seen enough holo topcoats. Sometimes I am far from the sharpest knife in the drawer, and this is one of those times. I wanted to make a few bottles up for friends of mine so I made a rather large batch, and I ended up with just shy of 8fl oz left for myself. That is a LOT of top-coat, the equivalent of 16 regular sized bottle of polish to be exact, so I think it will last me a good while! Here's some pics for you:

One humungous bottle of homemade holo

Two humungous bottles(because one just isn't enough!)

A size comparison pic. The bottles next to a regular sized bottle of polish.

A couple of 'before and after' swatch pics. Unfortunately, I didn't do the colours in sequence. Sorry about that!

So. What do you think? Not bad, huh? I like it anyway. I think it'll last me long enough to get sick of the sight of holo nps.......or not. No, maybe not!
Anyway, I'm going to keep this short and sweet, so I'm off until my next post. Stay safe, be happy, and I'll see you in the near future! Loads of love,

P

Apologies for not posting.

I've been somewhat stressed out since my last post. I find it upsetting that people jump to conclusions and judge when they haven't heard both sides of a story. I know it's easy to judge, but I do my best not to judge anyone until I've heard all there is to know. I'm human, I make mistake as does everyone else on this planet, but theft is not one of them. Anyway, enough of that crap.

I have an amazing topcoat to share with you, but I'm going to keep that until my next post, when I will start afresh with this blog. No more about this matter I've been talking about after this post. I hope you're all keeping well, and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was sick, nothing new there!
Anyway, I'll see you all soon. Stay safe, be happy. Loads of love.

I've said this before...

but I have to say it again. This has been a bad year for me in many ways. My health, my marriage in major ways, and things that have happened in the np community in more minor ways.
Some of my packages to others have gone astray. Don't ask me why, I don't know. Blame USPS. Blame other postal services around the world. I've had parcels I've sent go missing from time to time before. I've had parcels I was the recipient of go missing from time to time before.

When I've been the sender, as soon as I possibly could I've tried to correct the situation.

I need to say this. I think that if I were a swaplifter, not only would I NOT try to correct the situation(after all, that would mean that I had intended all along not to honour my side of the deal), but I would permanently ignore the person I had swapped with! I wouldn't message them, why would I? I'd make no effort to contact them at all, and I'd make no effort to make things right.

One particular person believes that I never sent my end. Wrong. Not only did I send my end(admittedly, the initial parcel was delayed due to my health,) but when the person concerned advised me that they hadn't received the first package, I actually sent a second parcel. In the midst of all this bear in mind that I'm in and out of the hospital, I also move to another state due to the breakdown of my marriage (which ended very abruptly during one of my hospital stays) I lost the paperwork! It happens. Especially considering my move!

Anyway, the person I'm talking about tells a lot of people that I never sent her anything. I know I did. Here's what happened. On the first 2 parcels, I wrote the address down incorrectly. It was either the city, or a number, something like that. I remember it was one thing, I just don't remember what(I had too many other more important things going on in my life)It wasn't the entire address that was wrong, it was one thing and one thing only.

Now I've just sent this person a 3rd parcel. I kept her in the loop as much as I possibly could. This person decided to tell the community of a certain forum that I'd sent her nothing. Wow. Because she can read my mind, right?

It really doesn't make sense that a person who had deliberately set out to cheat someone else would tell her what was going on! It doesn't make sense that the would-be cheat would then send a 3rd parcel(this time I sent her proof of shipping straight away, my mistake the first 2 go rounds, but like I say, things happen.)

It doesn't make sense. If I'd deliberately set out to cheat you, I sure as heck wouldn't keep you in the loop about my intent, and I sure as heck wouldn't attempt to make the situation right!

When parcels to me have gone missing in the past, the only time I was positive that there was foul play was when the other person made no attempt to contact me, and no attempt to rectify the situation, despite numerous messages from me. If, on the other hand the sender has kept me in the loop, and has 'righted' the situation, I know they're honest!

Now, why this why this person thinks I'm not honest is beyond me. It doesn't make sense. I've tried to make the situation right by sending her yet another parcel because she told me she didn't get either of the first 2. I've sent her proof of shipping. I don't know what else she wants! I don't know why she would tell others of the situation other than to cause drama, and to cause trouble. Simple as that. I now think she actually got the first 2 parcels. I don't know how, but why else would she try to make out like I was the dishonest one to others? It sounds a lot like a pre-emptive strike to me. That's all I can say.

I'm not a cheat. I live by the saying "do as you would be done by." I'm not saying any more about this after this post. I'm done. I'm sick of it. Mistakes happen. People who are innocent try to make things right with others. That's exactly what I've done. If I offend you, or if you're one of the people that has decided I'm in the wrong, so be it. I can't change your mind, and quite frankly I don't want to. I can't prove my intent to do the right thing. Also, you've decided what you want to think about me. If you don't like me, don't read this blog.

Anyway, I've had my say. I've talked it out. I've told you my side. I hope to see you next time I post. I really do. In the mean time, take care, be safe and try to be happy.

A little bit of haulage...

I got paid a few days ago, and I decided I needed a little pick me up! My idea of a bit of cheering up involves shopping, not always, but a lot of the time. So, I went online, and hit a few stores. The first one, I'd surfed plenty of times, but had never shopped at was 8ty8beauty.com
Their prices are amazing, and they have a fine range of goodies. I placed the order on the 6th November, and received them today, the 8th. How amazing is that? In 2 days, my order was placed, picked out of their warehouse, packed(very well, I hasten to add) and shipped in that short period of time. 10/10 8ty8beauty, you deserve it! I bought myself some Color Club np's(gotta love those Color Club's!) Here's some pics, and descriptions of what I got:

                                                  1)      The Color Club crew
                                                          2) The holo's
                                                             3) The rest
                                                       4) Holo swatches
                                                        5) Other swatches

1) The whole purchase lined up. From left to right:
     Harp On It
     Blue Heaven
     Halo-Graphic
     Cloud Nine
     Personal Stylist
     Wing fling
     Berry And Bright
     Glitter Wonderland
     Port-Folio
     Editorial
All of these polishes are gorgeous, but. The holo's are absolutely spectacular. These 4 holo's are from their new collection, and I am seriously regretting not getting all 6. Trust me, next payday, 8ty8beauty, here I come! All of the polishes applied smoothly and evenly(holo's included,) all are absolutely packed with colour. Just gorgeous. Especially when you consider the price. $3 for the regular np's and $8 for the holo's. How cheap is that???!!!

Pics 2, 3, 4 & 5 are self explanatory.  Simply amazing.

Next up is a small but important haul from Nailite.com. This purchase is(obviously as you'll see, lol!)  stuff for my frankening and indie supplies:

                                                                               1

                                                                               2

                                                                               3

                                                                                   4

                                                                                5

1) Sixty 1/2 fl oz np bottles.
2) Four 4 fl oz np bottles
3) Pearl rhinestones
4) Paisley rhinestones
5) 4mm SS ball bearings

Like I said, a small but important haul!

Anyway, I think that's quite enough for one day. It feels good to be back on track with this blog, and I really hope that you are all enjoying it as much as I am. I'll see you all next time. Mean while, you all take care, stay safe and be happy!

Loads of love,

Christmas is around the corner...

...again! Can you believe it? Where oh where does the time go? I guess it's an age thing, because I swear that when I was a youngster Christmas took forever to arrive. Now it seems like a few days go by from the previous Christmas, and we're back in the holiday season again!

So. Are you prepared? I'm not. The only person I consistantly shop for throughout the entire year is my sister Nicola, and that is because I always try my best to spoil her rotten. I'm not going to put any of the things I've bought for her on here, for obvious reasons. Her birthday is in December too, and as we live in different countries I tend to put gifts for both in one box, but I never palm her off with a combined Christmas/birthday present, I think that is so mean!

I went on a bit of a shopping frenzy via the internet, mainly for my 'sister from another mister' Kelly. She's another one that I really try to spoil. This year I want it to be really special for her as her hubby just deployed to Afghanistan for a whole year. Doesn't that suck? I mean, I've done it myself, and I know us military wives are very strong and pretty much all of us survive it, but that's not to say that it's easy, it's really not. Especially around the holidays. Again, I can't post any teasers in case she see's this post. Sorry KK, you gotta wait 'til Christmas day and see what Father Christmas brings for you!

I think I've said this before, but my husband Steve decided he'd had enough of our marriage after 12 years and bailed out in April, so he's one less to buy for, not to mention that I will no longer be buying for his family. That's down to him now, he no longer has a personal shopper.

I have to buy for my youngest nephew, Sam, my brother Fabian. I have to get Nicola's and Sams shipped to England. The cost of shipping is more often than not more costly than the gift itself. How crazy is that? I remember one year spending roughly $300 on shipping alone!!!
Fabians has to go to Canada...unless he decides to come and visit me, which might be on the cards! C'mon Jimmy, (Fabian) you know you want to see me, lol! And that's pretty much it. I don't buy for the rest of my nephews, I can't afford it. I don't buy for any more of my friends, ditto(much as I would love to.)

I'm getting there, slowly but surely. I'm trying not to go crazy on the spending. It's a totally different kettle of fish this year in comparison with last year, pretty much purely because of financial constraints. I hope they all like what I get them. I really do!

Anyway, lovelys, enough from me. We'll chat again soon. Stay safe. Get that Christmas shopping started!

All my love,

P

Up to date indie stash..

I'm quite surprisd by how many polishes I've actually made! Next thing is I'm in desparate need of a big shop, but it has to be done! The top  two pics are my non-holographic nps, and the bottom to show all the holo ones I've made. Not too bad, though I say so myself! What do you think? Also, I'd love for you to name these polishes, as I have no clue as to what I should call them, so your help would be fantastic!
Anyway, I'm going to show you the nail polish in it's bottles today, and I thought I'd show you all the swatches tomorrow.Be warned, they really don't look all that great, but there are a couple of real beauties hidden in this stash!

Photo one - The non holo's
Not too many, I know. Not super original colours either(please remember I'm a complete novice at this!)

Pictures 2 and 3 - the holo's

These are my special babies. One of them is the holo brown that I made with such resounding success on Facebook.
There are some totally gorgeous colours in this little lot! More to be reveal in a few days! Again, any ideas for colours please shoot me s message! In the mean time g'night! Be safe.

See you soon lovies!

Post note- The spelling in this post was seriously lacking, I just had to go back through and do some major editing! That's what happens when you take your meds then attempt to write on your blog! Lol! Lesson learned I guess, srong opiates and blogging don't mix too well.

Lemming for OPI Creme De Menthe

This is a nail polish that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. It is also, as you know VHTF. I've looked everywhere, and I've had no luck getting my hands on it. I decided to try and make it for myself.  This is my latest attempt...

I don't know where I'm going wrong, but I'm nowhere near close. I've made a pretty green alright, but it's nothing like Creme De Menthe. I don't know if it's not green enough? Or maybe it's too green? I know 'mI lacking on the gold and I'm not sure how to resolve that. I don't think adding more gold mica will solve the issue, because the gold is part of the duochrome effect. Do you have any ideas as to what I can do now? Do you know of any micas out there that will create that gold duochrome effect I need? Does anyone have any recipes where they've successfully recreated a Creme De Menthe indie or franken? Any input would be fabulous, thanks ladies!

Anyway, I'll see you all soon. Loads of love!

A new indie.

I don't know about you - those of you that make indies that is, but I have a list of the various colours I wanted to try and make. This is one of them. I wanted to make a milk chocolate coloured holo, but thought it would be practically impossible. Was I wrong! Now only was it easy to make - the first attempt was a resounding success! I am so pleased with how this came out. My only problem now is the name. I think Milk Chocolate is very boring personally. What do you think? Do you have any ideas for names for this colour?

Here's some pics for you all to feast your eyes upon. Good enough to eat, don't you think???

After the year I've had, it's nice to have something turn out right! I can't wait to end 2012. I think it's been one of the worst years of my life, it really has. Anyway, enough of that.

I noticed some people have stopped following my blog, and I'm so disappointed, more so in myself than anything else, I know I only have myself to blame. I've been a crap blogger. I haven't been able to get sale items and swap items out in a timely manner.  Things have gone so wrong for me this year, and consequently other people have suffered, even though that wasn't my intent.

I'm sorry for my lacklustre blog performance. I'm sorry for my tardiness in many things. I aim to make it better. I want my blog to shine. I want people to enjoy it. To  love reading it, to enjoy my photo's, to have fun when buying from my blog sales. To have fun when swapping with me. I know I've let people down, and I'm sincerely sorry.  I've been very sick for a while now, I've spent a lot of time in hospital this past year or so. I lost the love of my life. It's been a bad year. 2013 will be a better year for me, fingers crossed. Put it like this, it can't get any worse, and I can't sink any lower. I'm going to stop making promises I don't keep, I'm going to stop letting people down. I'm here, and I'm here to stay. Thank you to all of you who've stuck by me, I know it hasn't been easy. You're the best! I'll see you all soon, on my next post!

Loads and loads of love,

It's been a litle while since I showed my nail art...

....so I thought today was the perfect opportunity to show you all some more of my masterpieces! Well, maybe not masterpiece, but you know what I mean, lol! My talent doesn't seem to be getting any better, but I still love trying, it's such good fun. I love the array of products you can buy too. I have bought so much stuff from Ebay, and it's so cheap. Anyway, on to the pics. Let me know what you think!

Please bear in mind that I have absolutely no imagination. All of these designs have been copied from Youtube and various blogs. Sometimes I change things a little bit. Maybe use different colours, different flowers, rearrange where everything goes, but that's about my limit!

Thank you for bearing with me all this time, I do appreciate it. I know I've not been at all reliable, and I don't deserve any of you. You're all the best! Anyway lovelies, I'll see you all next time!Take care of yourselves, loads of love! xoxoxo
