Alrighty my lovelies! Do I have a treat for you! I am planning on photographing each of my brands, then posting the names of each nail polish. Please bear with me, this is going to take quite a while, and each brand will have it's own post, unless I only have a couple of a particular brand, in which case they will share a post! I'm going to start with the cheapies and work my way up to the HTF's and more expensive brands. I'm starting with my Sinful Colors stash. I currently have 42. I'm going to list the names as they have been photographed. Left to right, top to bottom. Hope you enjoy it!

Home again!

Hello my lovelies!
I've just got home after spending a fantastic week with my girlfriend Kelly, and her three kids Marc, TC and Jazzy. Kelly's hubby is currently over in Afghanistan, but he's due back at the end of the month after spending 6 months over there. I've been driving down to see Kelly and the kids once every 2 months or so. We didn't really do much of anything as such, a little shopping, a little housework, and a whole lot of chatting! It's always good to see them, I love them all dearly. We've been friends for roughly 4 years now, and I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without her. We met at a party when both of our husbands were stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Both of our hubands are active duty Marines.

The trip home was nice and uneventful, there were plenty of Sunday drivers on the road, but it didn't take me long to leave them behind! My husband says I suffer from 'lead foot syndrome', and yeah, I think he's right! I just like to get to where I'm going. I guess I'm lucky that I haven't been pulled over by the cops with my speeding antics! Anyway, that's all for now. I'm calling it quits for the night. Happy Independence day to all!

Water marbling

I found this beautiful technique a couple of months ago whilst surfing the internet. A certain blog called 'My Simple Little Pleasures' got me absolutely hooked on this technique. Initially, I couldn't get the hang of it. I tried and tried, got completely disillusioned, and then tried some more. One day it all seemed to fall into place. Now I'm nowhere near as good as Colette is, but I think I'm holding my own, especially considering this is new to me. So here are some pics of the attempts I've made. I'd love to hear what you think, so please feel free to comment!

FOTD - No pics!

Sorry I don't have any pics for you this time. I absolutely hate my feet, and I really don't want any pics of them on the internet! I put Essie Coat Azure on my toes last night, it's a really pretty blue shimmer. It has good coverage, and I only needed to use one coat for it to be completely opaque.

Edit: I think I'm going to do a coat of OPI The Color To Watch atop the Essie Coat Azure later on. The Color To Watch seems to be fairly sheer, so it'll give the Coat Azure a different look.

A couple of additions!

I got a couple more bottles of nail polish to go with my already vast 300+ bottle collection! Here's what they are:

Essie  Coat Azure - a gorgeous powder blue shimmer
OPI - The Color To Watch - A pretty purple with a blue tint
Sally Hansen HD Byte - A fuschia pink shimmer, absolutely beautiful!

NOTD (Go on...call me a hypocrite!)

I know I am one, lol! Okay, so it wasn't very long ago that I declared my hatred of all polishes glittery. But I had a good reason for it, or so I thought! It had nothing to do with the looks of glittery np's, I never had an issue with that. It was the removal of the np afterwards that I hated.  Now, I know I'm not the only woman out there who has an aversion to removing glittery nail polish, but I might very well be the first to be a convert to this method of removal. I found out that removing this stuff isn't anywhere near as hard as you think once you know how to do it correctly! This is what I've been told to do:
1) Soak a piece of cotton wool in nail polish remover
2) put on fingernail
3) Wrap fingernail/cotton wool with tin foil, and leave on for a minute or so.

When you take the foil and cotton wool off, supposedly all of the polish goes with it. Sounds easy, right? Well, I haven't tested this method myself yet, but I did indulge in applying my first glittery polish to my nails. Rest assured, you'll be the first to know if this works or not!

The polish I chose is absolutely beautiful. It's by Nina Ultra Pro, and it's called Purple X-ing. It's a gorgeous purple glitter with bits of tiny little holographic flecks throughout. I applied two coats and a top coat called Diamond Dry. I recommend this top coat if you come across it, it dries to a lovely sheen super quick. I've always been a Seche Vite and Out The Door girl myself, but I think I'm going to add this one to my on-hand top coat stash.
